Editorial method
How we research a shopping decision
We start with the job a shopper is trying to complete and the parts of the purchase that can change the result: total cost, seller, fit, compatibility, payment, delivery, returns, cancellation, support, and the quality of the record left behind.
Our standards
- Start with the shopper's real decision: total cost, seller identity, payment route, delivery, return, cancellation, or evidence.
- Separate store policy from legal rights and send readers to current official sources when rules matter.
- Do not invent product tests, ratings, discounts, reviews, stock, prices, or retailer terms.
- Best-pick and retailer pages must explain selection criteria, tradeoffs, update dates, and commercial relationships.
- A useful guide must leave the reader with a next step even when no purchase is made.
Guides and official sources
General shopping guides explain repeatable checks and record-keeping. When a question touches product recalls, payment complaints, consumer protection, privacy, accessibility, or legal rights, we point readers toward current official sources and keep our own claims limited.
How future Best Picks will work
Best Picks will be built around a named shopper situation, not a universal winner. Each page will state its selection criteria, who each option suits, meaningful disadvantages, total-cost questions, return and cancellation checks, the date reviewed, and any commercial relationship.
We may compare retailer policies, published specifications, availability, support routes, and first-hand editorial checks that we can honestly document. We will not claim laboratory testing, ownership, long-term use, live pricing, or anonymous customer evidence unless that work actually occurred and is described.
Retailer reviews
A retailer review will separate the store's own claims from our editorial assessment. Readers will be asked to confirm current prices, stock, delivery, returns, warranties, seller identity, and subscription terms directly before purchasing.
Updates and corrections
Pages are revised when links break, terms change, a comparison becomes stale, a safety boundary needs strengthening, or evidence no longer supports the wording. Corrections can be sent to contact@whereweshop.com.
